ABOUT US
The North Star Charter School PTO supports all grades, K-12th. Our mission is to institute and sustain a close relationship between the parents, teachers, and students by evolving opportunities within the home, school, and community. The PTO provides assistance to teachers within the classroom settings, raises funds for educational materials and experiences, and advocates school and family social interaction. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization helps to create the best possible learning environment for our children.

The PTO Board is a small subset of parents who volunteer time to support NSCS. There are many roles for parents to volunteer and committees for each event and program that the PTO supports. Please volunteer for one of the many options by emailing the board at pto@nscspto.org

MEETINGS
The PTO monthly meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 2:45 pm. Please check in with the Secondary Secretary for the room number and a visitor badge. If you would like to attend remotely, please contact PTO at pto@nscspto.org.
Children are welcome to sit quietly in the library or play on the playground (no supervision is offered).
We are hosting a special paint night on Thursday, November 14 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the North Star Café and we’d love for you to join us. This year, we have four options for you to select from, and all the materials will be provided, along with light refreshments. Click on the link below to sign up, and select which kit you’d like to make. You may order multiple kits, if you’d like. If you have multiple daughters, you are welcome to all complete one kit together or a separate kit for each daughter. No time to stay? You can order a kit to pick up and take home!
*Daughters are welcome to bring a mom/sister/grandma/aunt/special family member or friend that they’d like to do this activity with.

Spirit Night at Panera-11/15
Eat some tasty food while supporting North Star’s PTO! Mark your calendars and come to Panera on North Eagle Road (near Hobby Lobby) on Friday, November 15 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Bring the flyer (or show a digital copy) and 25% of all sales will go right back to the school! Your support helps PTO provide low-cost events, pays for fieldtrips, supplies for the school, and so much more! We hope to see you there!
PTO is excited to partner with POJOs for a family friendly night of fun on Thursday, November 21st! See attached flyer for more details. No advance purchase is necessary- just show up between 5-8pm and mention you are with North Star. In addition to discounted pricing, 20% of all money spent during our evening will go right back to North Star! See you there!
PTO has arranged a special guest to visit North Star! Santa will make a special appearance at our school from 11-1pm on Saturday, November 30th. Tickets are $10 and will include a photo with Santa, light refreshments, cookie decorating, and a picture frame they will make for their special picture with Santa. Buy Tickets
The second half of the year is quickly approaching! If you didn’t purchase pizza for the whole year and you would like to “set it and forget it,” now is your chance. From now until the end of December, you will be able to purchase pizza for the second half of the year. The pizza dates begin in January.

Pizza Friday Volunteers
Our Pizza Fridays are off to a great start! Remember that elementary must order and pay ahead. Deadline is always the Friday before. Secondary is concession-style where you bring cash. In December, we will send out the link to order for the second half of the year. We still need a few more volunteers! If you would like to volunteer, but spots are taken, please check back as some volunteers need to cancel as we get last-minute openings.

Staff Appreciation Luncheon-Wed. December 4
Monthly PTO general meeting is on the second Tuesday of the month, at 2:45pm. For the month of November, it will be November 12th in the 7th grade science room. We are hoping you can make it so you can give your input for upcoming events and find out how you can help. You are welcome to bring ideas for an event we already have planned, or a new idea for another event.
