North Star has a history of strong volunteerism and we believe this quality not only sets a wonderful example for our students but deeply enriches the education we provide.
Ways to become involved in student life at North Star.
PTO
North Star has a very active Parent Teacher Organization for students K-12. The PTO works to institute and sustain close relationships between the parents, teachers, and students by evolving opportunities within the home, school, and community. The PTO provides assistance to teachers within the classroom settings, raises funds for educational materials and experiences, and advocates school and family social interaction. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent teacher organization helps to create the best possible learning environment for our children.
We encourage you to attend our meetings and get involved. Everyone “belongs” to the North Star PTO. We welcome you and are here to make the school a better place for everyone!

Sports, Clubs and Activities
The North Star Athletics department serves as a platform to create opportunities for our secondary students to engage in extra-curricular activities outside of the classroom. If you have a special skill that might prove to be an asset to one of our student organizations, or if you want to be a parent helper in one of your child’s clubs or sports, please let us know! You can contact the Athletic Director, Karsen Guray, kguray@northstarcharter.org or your coach.
School Related Activities
Your gift of time and talent in the classroom, serving on a Board or Committee, or executing community building events is invaluable to us! Please let your teacher or principal know if you are interested in volunteering at North Star. They can identify areas of need and how your gifts and talents may be best utilized.
